He is best known for his role as Ian Murray in the Starz television series Outlander.[1] His other work includes the films Brave, 300: Rise of an Empire, Maleficent, 51 Degrees North, Churchill, and the TV series Lip Service.[2]　　Cree was born in Kilmarnock, East Ayershire, Scotland in 1980, the son of a local kitchen and bathroom fitter.[3] Upon completion of Secondary School, he attended Langside College in Glasgow for a year before applying, and being accepted to, the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama (now known as the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland).
